Nine tables, on purpose
A guest who spends one evening here and goes to bed is better off than one who stays until the lights go up. So the room keeps to nine tables, closes at one, lends no money and has no cash machine. The bar stops serving before the tables stop.
Age and ID
You must be 18 or over, and the door checks your document every time. A photo on a phone does not count. Younger guests are refused at all hours.
What the staff will do
- keep to the limit you set with them, or bring it up if you did not
- tell you the time and how long you have been in the room
- hold your seat for twenty minutes while you step away
- ask you to leave for the evening, or for some days, if they think it is wise
- help you stop at the front desk, where the restriction is arranged in person
None of this is on the website on purpose. It is a conversation with someone who can see your face.
Five things worth noticing in yourself
- You are thinking about the room while you stand on the pier.
- You stayed longer than you told your companions you would.
- You went back to the desk to ask for a larger limit.
- You hid how the evening went from someone close to you.
- You were irritated when the bar closed.
Any one of them is a reason to talk to someone. Staff are trained to notice the same signs and to say something quietly, without an audience.
