Length
Four days, three nights
Group
Up to eight guests
Season
April to October
Pace
Gentle, one steep street
Meeting point
F-Lie Hotel, Llandudno, coach to the airport
Porto stacks itself up a hillside and looks down at a wide river. The weekend uses both: two nights in town, one in the valley where the terraces climb the banks.
Nothing here is a race. Even the boat leaves late enough for a second helping.
Indicative price
From £865 per person
Flights and rooms move, so a manager confirms the final figure before anything is agreed.
Day by day
Day 1 · Arrival by tram line
Fly in, ride across the old bridge and fall into a room with a river view. Supper is fish.
Day 2 · Bookshop morning
We wander the old centre without a list. The afternoon tram goes to the beach at the mouth of the river.
Day 3 · Up the Douro
A morning train up the valley, then a slow boat between the terraced banks and lunch under a vine pergola.
Day 4 · Home on the hour
Breakfast on the terrace, a last look at the water and the flight back. The coach waits at the airport.

Request this tour
Eight places only, and the valley hotel is tiny. Write early if you have a date in mind.
Send the request and a manager comes back to you with the final price and dates. It is a request, not a purchase.
Thank you, it is with us.
A manager will contact you within 48 hours to confirm the price and the details, because flight and room prices can change until then. We will ring in the time window you chose; if it no longer suits, reply to our email with a better one.
Home is the front door of F-Lie Hotel in Llandudno, where someone will have kept the soup warm.
